Time Looks at eBay
By Ina Steiner
EcommerceBytes.com
January 29, 2001

An interesting look at eBay from Time.com. It reveals some interesting metrics that eBay uses to measure performance: "velocity of trade": how quickly goods are sold; "ASP": average sale price (the higher the ASP, the higher the closing value fee that eBay receives from sellers). The article points out that eBay is seeking higher-priced items (cars, real estate, high-end computers) to boost its ASP. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,97068,00.html
