eBay Announces New & Modified Categories

1) eBay introduced a new Business, Office & Industrial category, replacing the current Business Exchange page. http://pages.ebay.com/catindex/business.html

2) eBay introduced a new Networking and I.T. category, replacing the current IT Solutions Theme Page. http://pages.ebay.com/catindex/computers.html http://pages.ebay.com/catindex/networking.html

3) eBay recategorized dolls and bears in one Dolls & Bears category index page. (Although you may preview the Dolls & Bears page, bear items will not be relocated from Collectibles into Dolls & Bears for one month.) http://pages.ebay.com/catindex/dolls.html

4) eBay is proposing a split of its Photo and Electronics Category, scheduled to roll out in March 2001.

5) eBay is recatagorizing toys and hobbies into one category, renaming Toys, Bean Bag Plush to Toys & Hobbies. Hobbies & Crafts will appear on a separate page. The Toys, Bean Bag Plush page will continue to look much as it does now, and you will be able to click to either page directly from the eBay home page. The new Hobbies & Crafts page will now also include RR Models, Trains and Art Supplies from the Collectibles category index page; Models, Slot Cars, and More Hobbies from the Toys category index page; and Arts & Crafts and Needlecraft from the Everything Else category index page.

6) eBay is changing its Sports Category, expanding the Index Page from its current format into two separate Sports-Related Category Index pages. The current Sports Category Index Page will be divided into the following: - Sports Memorabilia Category Index Page that will include all Sports-Related Autographs, Memorabilia and Trading Cards - Sporting Goods Category Index Page that will focus on Sporting Goods.
