UltimateBid.com Auction Site Shuts Down
By Ina Steiner

February 02, 2001

UltimateBid.com, a year-old auction site that sold unique sports and entertainment experiences, ceased operations. http://www.idg.net/crd_ultimatebid_406308_102.html UltimateBid had a major partnership with International Management Group and offered VIP access to events, from local community activities to global events. UltimateBid and eSuperstars merged in April 2000 to create UltimateBid, a privately held company headquartered in Redwood Shores, California and New York City. A message on the site says: "Thank you for your interest in UltimateBid. Unfortunately we have ceased the operations of our business, and discontinued our auctions on eBay. If you are a winner on a pending auction, you will receive your tickets or be given a full refund. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. Thank you for your support."
