Greg Manning's Certified Comic Book Sale will feature rare super-heroes comic books. The auction will be open to a worldwide audience for bidding on the Internet through http://www.icollector.com and on eBay using its new Live Auctions capability at http://www.ebayliveauctions.com. The auction takes place on Saturday, February 24, 2001 at 1.00pm EST. Highlights of the sale, featuring 396 lots, include one of the first Golden Age super-heroes, the dark, gothic fantasy figure Batman, first appearing in his own comic in 1940 (lot 1187, estimate $10,000-12,000) and the first copy of Captain America published in 1941, the ultimate all-American hero, pictured on the cover of this first issue in hand-to-hand combat with Adolf Hitler (lot 1377, estimate $35,000-45,000)
