Amherst Robots, http://www.vrane.com a popular site that creates third-party "bots" that search eBay, discontinued their "Virtual Reserve" tool yesterday. Virtual Reserve allowed eBay sellers to set a price on their auction that, if not met, would automatically shut down the auction and cancel all bids. Sellers could choose a time either 30 minutes or 2 minutes before the auction ended to trigger the service. A spokesperson for Vrane said there were no plans to reinstate the program. A posting on the Amherst Robots site stated: "Virtual reserve tool is pulled because of the controversial nature of it."
