FairMarket CEO Resigns, Company Announces Lay Offs

FairMarket, a provider of e-business selling and marketing solutions incorporating dynamic pricing, announced that CEO and President Eileen Rudden resigned from the company. Rudden joined the company in September 2000 and focused on applying the company's technology to the areas of retail discount and clearance and business to business surplus. FairMarket also laid off 40 workers and said it will close its Australian office. FairMarket's board of directors has named Janet Smith, FairMarket's CFO, as interim President and will initiate a search for a new CEO.
