We reported previously on the United States Postal Service auctions on eBay. Here's another story about the St. Paul, Minnesota, USPS Mail Recovery Center, one of three in the country. The three Centers have always held "real life" auctions to get rid of undeliverable goods, and last fall, the USPS chose the St. Paul Center for an experiment in moving the auctions online. The article says that the USPS will evaluate the test, and may hold bids on which online auction site it will use if it continues the program. Currently, the USPS auctions are held on the eBay site. http://www.siliconvalley.com/docs/news/svfeatures/005710.htm
