Half.com Rolls Out Price Patrol
By Ina Steiner

June 12, 2001
eBay's Half.com unveiled Price Patrol on Tuesday, a program that allows consumers to automatically compare Half.com prices with prices on other shopping sites. Price Patrol is a free download and automatically installs on a user's computer. While shopping on a specific product detail page at another Internet retailer, a small Price Patrol alert pops up. The user then clicks on the alert and a new browser page opens taking them directly to the same product detail page on Half.com. Half.com will expand Price Patrol to include hundreds of products by September. Price Patrol was built using technology developed by Clickthebutton.com, a developer of price comparison technology.
