eBay Users Turn to 1960s-Style Protest
By Ina Steiner

June 21, 2001

eBay users who were angered over eBay's actions regarding the Jacket Auction (see June 18th Newsflash) have began protesting through art. Users are drawing pictures depicting their feelings about eBay's pulling of the Jacket Auction and posting the artwork for sale on eBay. Announcing the "Outsider Ebay Artists Unite!" protest movement, a user posted "My motive is and always has been to speak out in support of the common people who really are ebaY. I mean ebaY no harm, and sincerely believe that what ebaY management is doing is harmful to its customers and to ebaY itself."
