eBay Puts 'Collectibles Month' Game on Hold
By Ina Steiner

July 01, 2001
As part of eBay's Collectibles Month Promotion, it created a "Discover the Collector in You" mystery item hunt game. It has temporarily removed the promotion from the site while it investigates technical difficulties encountered by some users. "We are working hard to restore the promotion in a manner in which all users can participate." The game entails finding 18 hidden "mystery item" collectibles all over eBay, which is publishing three clues each day to help find the items. The grand prize is a VIP trip for two to go behind the scenes at an upcoming taping of the Antiques Roadshow.
