Reading AuctionBytes: Grateful Dead Vaults Private Tour to be Auctioned on eBay

Starting July 12 Dead Heads will have a very good reason to be grateful. Rhino Entertainment will offer to the highest eBay bidder an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of the Grateful Dead Productions facility in San Francisco. Interested fans may visit http://www.ebay.com/rhino beginning on July 12, 2001, to place bids for the tour. This unique Grateful Dead package includes:

- 2-hour tour of the Grateful Dead complex conducted by Dead Archivist David Lemieux. Includes the vault, the studio, and memorabilia rooms
- Meet-and-greet with Bob Weir
- Three pre-approved items for autographing by Bob Weir (winner to supply)
- Handheld video keepsake of the tour
- Souvenirs including a set of drinking glasses, T-shirt, limited-edition poster, and The Golden Road (1965-1973), the extensive and long-awaited 12-CD Grateful Dead boxed set coming to stores on October 16
- Roundtrip coach airfare for two from any major airport in the continental U. S. to San Francisco
- One-night hotel stay for two in the San Francisco Bay area

Bidding opens on July 12 and runs for 10 days until July 22. Proceeds from the winning bid will benefit the Rex Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization established by members of the Grateful Dead and friends.
