Volkswagen is bringing its online auction procurement activities in-house citing security concerns, according to Computerworld magazine. Volkswagen is purchasing auction software from eBreviate to host auctions on its own servers behind its firewall. During the past 15 months, Volkswagen AG spent $5.2 billion buying parts, PCs and raw materials using online auctions.
