Based on a user's search query, up to three of the most current, relevant listings from eBay will appear on the AltaVista shopping results page, along with product information from across the Web and local retail shopping results, to provide consumers with a complete, comparative shopping experience. Users will have the option to click on a listing to get additional information and place bids, or they may view additional listings by clicking on the "View All Results" link. The strategic relationship between eBay and Altavista provides joint marketing, technology and traffic distribution opportunities. Utilizing eBay's Application Programming Interface (API), AltaVista will integrate eBay listings into the AltaVista shopping and product research service, providing consumers with the opportunity to bid on products relevant to their search queries and shopping interests.
