James the 100th Anniversary Bear is 100% mohair and is inspired by and named for James Cash Penney, the legendary merchant who founded the J. C. Penney Company. Each hand-crafted bear is tagged with Steiff's famous "Button in Ear" quality symbol and comes with a certificate of authenticity. To preserve James' value as a collectible, Steiff will cease production of the bear on April 14, 2002
