The original "Black Betsy" baseball bat used by Shoeless Joe Jackson ended August 7 with the high bidder paying $577,610. According to the Wall Street Journal, while the price broke all records, the bat sold for less than expected. The buyer of the bat is has been a long-time collector and sports memorabilia specialist.
