Reading AuctionBytes: Mattel Launches Web Site for 'Hot Wheels' Collectors

Toy maker Mattel launched a Web site for collectors of Hot Wheels, toy vehicles that the company began manufacturing 30 years ago. The Web site will feature an "Auctions" section in partnership with eBay, and regional online communities with news, bulletin boards, event and club information, which are regionally specific. In September, a section called "Community Collection" will launch to provide visitors a database of photos, and detailed information on just about every Hot Wheels car ever made. http://www.hotwheels.com
