Columbia TriStar Television Distribution (CTTD) and eBay are teaming up to launch a new television project for Fall 2002. The daily half-hour show will tap into the phenomenon of modern-day collecting through the unique stories behind the millions of items traded daily on eBay and other venues. The series will be produced by eBay and LMNO Productions, in association with CTTD. The series, designed for afternoon and early-evening time periods, will be distributed to local stations in syndication. Although no format has been decided upon yet, according to eBay spokesperson, Kevin Pursglove, some of the ideas being discussed include: highlighting how some users are utilizing eBay, examining how has collecting changed over the past few years and how eBay has played a role in that change, and possibly featuring the Top Ten hot items on eBay for a given day.
