On Sunday night, AuctionBlitz's server suffered a catastrophic failure when the company attempted to upgrade its mail server software. The company is scrambling to upgrade its backup server and promises to move up its plans to add two additional "redundant" servers to prevent such an occurrence from happening in the future. The server that AuctionBlitz is using - the original backup server - "is not as responsive as it needs to be to meet our members' needs," the company stated. The company expects to resume normal operations by Tuesday night. AuctionBlitz is a brand new site offering online auction "sniping" services to members. In related news, Bidnapper, another sniping service, will begin charging members for its services on September 15, 2001. Users may select from service options priced from $9.95 to $29.95.
