Yahoo will launch a new discount shopping platform called Yahoo Warehouse. The service will offer used, overstocked and clearance commodity goods, such as movies and books, computers and electronics, at a variety of discounted prices. Yahoo anticipates Warehouse will launch with more than two million listings from individuals and companies such as abebooks.com, AlphaCraze.com and TigerDirect.com. Sellers can list items at no cost and will pay a final value fee.
Yahoo also said it will integrate its U.S. commerce properties into a new Yahoo Shopping network. Yahoo's search capability will combine results from across all of Yahoo's commerce properties
Auctions, Shopping, Classifieds and Warehouse -- so that consumers can shop and compare merchandise from popular brand-name retailers, auctions and warehouse sellers, large and small merchants, as well as local items found in classifieds.
