Reading AuctionBytes: 'Lord of the Rings' Trading Cards Precede Movie
The buzz around Director Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy has been mounting as Tolkien fans await the cinematic release of "The Fellowship of the Ring" on December 19th. On November 6th
six weeks before the premiere -- the Trading Card Game hits the streets. The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game transports players to Tolkien's "Middle-earth," presenting them with the same challenges that Frodo Baggins faced on his fateful journey from Hobbiton to Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring. Decipher's Lord of the Rings Roleplaying Adventure Game will launch in stores this December, followed by the full Roleplaying Game in the spring 2002. The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game will be sold in community hobby, game, and comic book stores and through Target, Barnes & Noble, WaldenBooks, Borders, Electronics Boutique, and Babbages.
