eBay Introduces Seller Merchandising

eBay has created a new feature called Seller Merchandising. Whenever someone places a bid or completes checkout, they will see up to three related items from the same seller. The items displayed in the box on the Bid Confirmation and Checkout Confirmation pages will only be from that particular seller. If the seller has no similar or related items, the box will not appear. For Store Sellers, the promotions will include Store Buy It Now items.

Sellers can choose to opt out of this feature if they wish. This feature is currently free. eBay said that, based on this trial, they will develop more effective merchandising tools for release later in 2002 and beyond.
