eBay said it is testing "Sell Your Item 2.0," a new version of its listing form. eBay explained that as it added new features to the site, the form has become long, and users have been frustrated with its limitations.
Sellers have a choice of selecting many features when listing an item on eBay, and the Sell Your Item form has become complex and takes a long time to download. If sellers need to use their browsers' back button during the listing process, data is lost, and sellers need to enter the information from the beginning.
eBay said the new Sell Your Item form, version 2.0, incorporates a multi-step listing process that will have the following enhancements:
Numerous usability improvements
An easier to manage listing process, since the form is divided into manageable sections of related listing content.
No more lost data since eBay will save data each step of the way.
The ability to customize the form - Sellers will be able to minimize and "remember" fields in the listing form to meet their needs.
Personalized listing experience - Only components of the form that are relevant to sellers based on their eligibility, listing category, and format will be displayed.
Ability to list similar items with a click of a button.
Ability to access Help through a separate pop-up window, allowing the Sell Your Item form to remain visible at all times.
