Collectors Universe Inc. announced it has signed an agreement with eBay Inc. under which eBay members will have the ability to participate in live auctions of collectibles offered by Collectors Universe. eBay's Live Auction technology will enable participants to place bids via the Internet at the same time that bidders are competing in person or by telephone. eBay and Collectors Universe will both promote the events.

eBay Live Auctions allows real-time online bidding in offline traditional auctions. Online bidders enjoy the excitement of participating in an auction, without having to travel to the physical location of where it is taking place. Individuals can bid live during the event by going to http://www.ebayliveauctions.com.

The first event, scheduled for March 14, 2002, is a sportscard and sports memorabilia auction being held by the Superior Sports Auction division of Collectors Universe. A second live floor auction for rare coins will take place on March 23, 2002 in Baltimore, Maryland, and will be conducted by the Bowers & Merena division of Collectors Universe.

Collectors Universe Inc. is a leading provider of products and services to the high-end collectibles market and grades and authenticates collectible coins, sportscards, stamps, and autographs. http://www.collectors.com
