eBay has made a policy change to its PowerSeller program by introducing a "PowerSeller icon." The new icon will appear as part of the seller's profile next to their User ID. eBay's PowerSeller program rewards sellers who achieve a certain amount of sales and are members in good standing. There are three levels requiring minimum monthly sales of $2,000 (Bronze) to $25,000 (Gold). eBay PowerSellers must maintain a 98% positive feedback rating, and benefits include extra levels of support and a special logo for their auctions. The objectives of the new icons are to provide recognition to PowerSellers and to minimize the trust and safety concerns over the PowerSeller logo usage.
BidBay has officially changed its name to AuctionDiner. The online auction site was sued by eBay over trademark infringement due to its name (which contained the letters "bay") and logo design. BidBay decided last month that it could not afford a legal battle with eBay.
AuctionWatch is offering a new annual service plan for its auction management services. The new plan allows sellers to host images and list items on eBay, Yahoo, Amazon, and AuctionWatch Storefronts, but limits access to AuctionWatch Post Sales and Customer Relationship Management services. The new plan costs $250/year plus with a 6 cent listing fee per item.
