Reading AuctionBytes: Internet's Oldest Antiques Mall Reaches Record Number of Items

TIAS.com (http://www.tias.com), the Internet's oldest catalog of antiques and collectibles, is also the largest. TIAS.com announced that this weekend, they exceeded 400,000 online listings. The dramatic increase in inventory over the past few months is being attributed to new merchants joining TIAS as well as a significant increase in sales.

"Because of marketing efforts we initiated over the past eight months, we have seen significant growth in sales and traffic," said Phillip Davies president of TIAS.com. "People are looking for a safe place to shop on the Internet and know they can trust the TIAS merchants. There is also a sense of community at TIAS, and people share their collecting stories in our newsletter."

TIAS.com was created seven years ago to provide an online e-commerce solution for antique and collectible merchants. Merchants who create an online storefront on TIAS can sell inventory in a fixed price format and can also launch to auction sites like eBay and Yahoo! Auctions. All items in the individual stores are searchable through a search engine on the main TIAS.com Web site. The search engine also includes inventory from sister site AntiqueArts.com, an online gallery of fine art and quality antiques.
