HammerTap has released a software tool that allows users to analyze eBay sales by category. DeepAnalysis scans all of the auctions in an eBay sales category going back 30 days and reveals the most successful sellers and most popular items and also aggregates sales figures and sell-through rates.
HammerTap believes that DeepAnalysis will allow eBay sellers to better understand the marketplace and will make sellers more successful at selling on the auction site.
"By showing the most popular items, it allows users to find out what items are attracting the most attention in a particular category," said Ron Brandon, spokesman for HammerTap. "A deep understanding of a marketplace is an important part of becoming a successful merchant within that marketplace." Brandon said that eBay sellers, market research analysts and anyone who watches the eBay marketplace for trends will benefit from using DeepAnalysis.
DeepAnalysis performs the following functions:
Extracts and displays sales data for every auction within an eBay category over the previous 30 days
Displays sales data for every seller in an eBay category
Shows total sales, average sales price, average number of bids, and sales success rates for entire eBay categories
Exports reports to CSV format for spreadsheets and database programs- Automatically updates itself from the Internet when a new version is available
