eBay said it will make changes to its Checkout feature over the next few weeks. eBay's Checkout feature is a tool that buyers use to complete their purchases. eBay will change the default shipping address to the one last used or the member's registration address, and a link will allow members to change their shipping address.
eBay will also allow members to change certain information in Checkout after they have completed the process, depending on payment method. Currently, members cannot make changes, even if they discover they have entered the wrong information. eBay said it will also make changes to enhance the look and feel of the Submit Payment and Total Requested pages.
Last October, eBay launched the Checkout feature, which led to confusion among buyers and sellers. Sellers had the option of using the automated features of Checkout, but all eBay buyers were confronted with the Checkout button upon winning an auction item. After weeks of confusion, eBay changed the feature so that buyers would only see the Checkout button for auctions when sellers chose to use the feature.
In related news, eBay introduced a new look to the "Seller's Other Items" page. This page shows all of a seller's items, including "Buy It Now" fixed-price items. The new page will be similar to the current search and listings display, and will feature gallery images and the ability to sort.
