By Ina Steiner AuctionBytes.com May 07, 2002
Actor Anthony Edwards of the NBC television show "ER" will sell his personal trailer on eBay Motors with proceeds benefiting the Cure Autism Now Foundation. The 36-foot Airstream trailer will be up for bid from May 6-16, 2002. The trailer features wood paneling, a full kitchen, office and wrap-around couch, as well as other amenities. In addition, the trailer will include signed memorabilia from the cast of "ER" and a lunch with Edwards.
"Autism is a disease that needs immediate attention and I am hoping that with the money raised from the auctioning of my trailer, we will be even closer to finding a cure," said Anthony Edwards, board member, Cure Autism Now Foundation.
Autism usually strikes sometime in the first two years of life. It can cause extreme impairment in language, cognition and communication. The disorder affects over 400,000 families and costs the nation more than $13 billion a year. Recent studies indicate that as many as one in every 300 children born today will be diagnosed with autism. The Cure Autism Now Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and funding autism research and accelerating the pace of scientific progress toward effective treatments and a cure.
