eBay Motors launched an aviation category on Monday. eBay Motors is part of the eBay auction site and offers everyday and collector cars, motorcycles, auto parts and memorabilia. The company expects more than two billion dollars worth of cars to be sold on eBay Motors this year.
eBay Motors kicked off the category launch with an "Air Show" promotion featuring celebrity aviation memorabilia. Items up for auction include short-to-medium range private planes, the first Boeing 707 flight simulator, and experiences including a ride in a B-17 Bomber and VIP access at a Space Shuttle launch.
Also available for bidding is the chance to journey to the International Space Station in November 2002. (Final approval is dependent upon passing medical examinations and qualification procedures.)
