In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the first transatlantic flight, and the 100th year of Lindbergh's birth, auction house Butterfields will offer a unique collection of Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh letters, documents and memorabilia on eBay. Much of this collection stems from Jean Saunders, friend and personal assistant to the Lindberghs from 1959 to 1977.
Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh are remembered as one of the most influential couples of the 20th century. His name became known worldwide in 1927 after his solo flight across the Atlantic in the Spirit of St. Louis. Charles Lindbergh then dedicated the rest of his life to advancing the field of aviation, and later, to conservation. Anne was the daughter of a U.S. Ambassador, and was thrust onto the national stage after her marriage. Anne Morrow Lindbergh went on to author several best-selling books.
