SellYourItem.com will host the auction for a rare and important collection of manuscripts and other pieces by the famous American poet, Carl Sandburg (1878-1967). Sandburg won a Pulitzer Prize for his biography, Abraham Lincoln: The War Years (1939).

The auction will also include important pieces from Ed Steichen and Clarence D. Batchelor. This collection of manuscripts, correspondence, documents, art, photographs, and memorabilia was preserved by Catherine ("Kitty") McCarthy, Sandburg's editor and friend during her tenure at Harcourt, Brace and Company, Sandburg's publisher.

The auction is scheduled to begin June 5th on SellYourItem.com, a privately held company headquartered in Tampa Bay, Florida. http://www.sellyouritem.com
