Gregg Manning Auctions Inc. will conduct an auction of rare stamps in New York that will be broadcast simultaneously over the Internet. eBay Live will broadcast the auction and make real-time bidding available to its registered users via the Internet.

The International Rarities Stamp Auction will take place on Sunday, June 16 at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. The auction will feature the recently discovered 1992 New York Stock Exchange Invert, one of the rarest and most exciting finds in the history of stamp collecting. It is expected to realize $500,000. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the sheet will go to charity, with a directed share going to a fund for the families of victims of the September 11 tragic attacks

Also going on the auction block is the unique Baden error of color, 9 kreuzer Black on Green, Michel catalog #4F, issued in 1851. The Baden color error was first sold at auction in Berlin in 1919; most recently it sold in 1997 for $603,750. There are three cancelled examples known of the Baden error, along with this unique mint copy. Since its discovery in 1894, 43 years after it was issued, this is only the fourth auction appearance of this great rarity. Another featured lot in the International Rarities Auction will be the largest known multiples in any form of the 5 cents and 10 cents 1847 first issues of the United States, Scott catalog numbers 1 and 2.

Anyone wishing to watch the auction live or order a hardcopy catalog may do so at http://www.gregmanning.com .
