eBay will begin testing a new tool for members who sell on eBay Stores, its fixed-price venue introduced in June 2001. Over the next few weeks, eBay will begin testing Merchandising Manager, a tool designed to cross-promote products to shoppers.
Sellers may pick an item that is for sale on auction or fixed-price format, and link items that buyers would also be interested in. Those complementary items will appear on the Bid Confirmation email and the Checkout Confirmation page for the item, enticing shoppers to buy these items as well. For members with a featured or anchor Store, these items will also appear on the View Item page of the item.
eBay said the Merchandising Manager will be free.
