PayPal Says Swedish Auction Site Will Integrate with Its Online Payment Services

Tradera.com, a Swedish Internet auction company, will integrate PayPal payment services into its site. Tradera.com will be the first Swedish online auction site to offer PayPal's secure payment method. This will make it easier for Tradera's customers to engage in international transactions, since PayPal has more than 17 million member accounts worldwide in 38 countries.
"Since Tradera generates over 50,000 transactions monthly, we are constantly trying to develop ways to make it easier for our customers to do secure payments, and PayPal is a great partner in pursuing our goals," said Jonas Nordlander COO, Tradera.com.
Sending payments using PayPal can be faster and more convenient than traditional payment methods. Tradera's customers can click on the PayPal button to send or receive money for domestic or international transactions. In addition, Swedish PayPal users now have the option of transferring money directly from their PayPal account to their local bank account.
Tradera has over 115,000 active auctions and more than 217,000 members and generates over 50,000 transactions monthly.
eBay annnounced last month that it had entered into an agreement to acquire PayPal by the end of the year. (eBay has a site in Sweden.) Antitrust regulators are still evaluating the papers filed by the companies.
QXL ricardo plc, the pan-European online auction company, also operates in Sweden, and Yahoo said earlier this month that it will join forces with QXL to provide a co-branded online auction service in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
