Pierre Omidyar and Jeff Skoll placed high on Fortune Magazine's list of "America's Richest 40 Under 40." Omidyar, age 35, is Chairman & Founder of eBay. He placed number 2 on the list with $3.82 billion. This amount is down from $4.39 billion last year.
Jeff Skoll, 37, former vice-president of eBay, placed third on the list with $2.18 billion. Skoll left eBay last year to found the Skoll Foundation, which funds community-based charities.
Other technology people made the list, including Michael Dell, Chairman, CEO and Founder of Dell Computer. Dell placed first on the list with a total of $16.49 billion to his name at the ripe age of 37. Jeff Bezos, 38, Chairman, President & CEO of Amazon.com placed 4th ($1.66 billion), and Ted Waitt, 39, of Gateway, placed 5th ($1.05 billion).
Meg Whitman, eBay's CEO, is too old to be considered for the "Under 40" list. Whitman is in her mid-40s.
