Carnaby Inc. appointed Michael Palandro as chief operating officer. Carnaby is an auction and fixed-price venue founded in 1998 by Rick Antunes and Piyush Patel.
Palandro will oversee all domestic and international business for Carnaby. His focus will be on increasing brand awareness and guiding the daily operations of the company. His responsibilities will also include business development, strategic planning, organizational management, marketing and acquisitions.
Palandro was doing some consulting for large companies in the area and came across Carnaby. Apparently, he liked what he saw. "I think working for Carnaby is a great opportunity," Palandro said. "This is a very intriguing and exciting industry, especially in these volatile times when the industry has remained buoyant."
Palandro said he has worked for large manufacturers and retailers and will use that experience to help guide Carnaby into prudent business decisions. Palandro has over 30 years of executive level experience with Fortune 100 companies. His previous experience included executive positions with W.R. Grace as a director, divisional COO and CFO with CityStores Company, RCA Corporation and the Singer Company.
