Live Global Communications hosted its first live "virtual stockyard" auction from Frontier Stockyard of Billings, Montana. On September 6, 2002, bidders from Colorado, North Dakota, Nebraska, Missouri and Iowa participated in Frontier’s live auction of cattle.
Frontier Stockyard used Live Global Bid’s software to auction over 8,500 head of cattle, increasing both sales volume and lots sold. The company said 51% of the boost bids originated from the Internet, and 22% of the winning bids came from virtual bidders.
Live Global Communications CEO Barry White said that in addition to higher prices, live online auctions offer the benefits of personal security, travel cost reductions and time savings.
Live Global Bid offers online live and interactive auction software in the automotive, cattle, thoroughbred horses, furs and collectibles sectors.
