The Association of Online Appraisers appointed Judith Katz-Schwartz as its new president. Mrs. Katz-Schwartz, a well-known dealer and author, has appeared in the capacity of an appraiser on numerous TV shows including Personal FX , Treasures in Your Home, the Montel Williams show, and the Sally Jessie Raphael Show. In addition, Judith is the author of "Protecting Your Collectible Treasures: Secrets Of a Collecting Diva" (Martingale, 2001). She has been an appraiser for the popular online appraisal service, Ask the Appraiser (CollectingChannel.com), since its inception in 1999. Katz-Schwarz replaces David Maloney, ISA CAPP, AOA CM, who will remain on the board of directors.

The association also announced three new board members: Yvonne Tucker (Antiques & Collectibles Dealer Association), Ina Steiner (Auctionbytes.com, publisher of this newsletter), and Phillip Davies (TIAS.com).

Mr. Maloney, author of "Maloney's Antiques & Collectibles Resource Directory" (Krause, 2001), will continue to serve the AOA in the capacities of board member and Secretary/Treasurer. Kathy Kamnikar, President of Antique Networking, Inc., also continues to serve as a member of the board of directors.

About the AOA: The Association of Online Appraisers establishes and maintains standards for those offering appraisals over the Internet. Membership is open to new as well established appraisers. Dues is $60 per year and entitles the member to access the 550+ page "Complete Online Course in Personal Property Appraising."
