eBay redesigned its announcement boards, adding navigation tabs and a link to the eBay community newsletter. The eBay General Announcements Board (http://www2.ebay.com/aw/marketing.shtml) contains announcements about new products and features, promotions and occasional messages from the CEO. The eBay System Status Announcements Board (http://www2.ebay.com/aw/announce.shtml) reports on technical glitches and outages.
The General Announcements Board and the System Status Announcements Board have a new design at the top of the page. The design is based on the retro "large letter" postcards that were used in the 1930s and 40s to advertise tourist attractions.
Three new tabs point to each announcement board as well as to the eBay's community newsletter, "The Chatter." The November issue of the newsletter contains a column by Jim "Uncle Griff" Griffith called "Uncle Griff's Corner"; profiles of eBay members and staff; and tips on using eBay.
The main News Index, found at http://pages.ebay.com/community/news/index.html, has not been redesigned.
