New online auction site PixieToys kicked off its Grand Opening membership drive this weekend with a special promotion with the Adoptables.com Web site. PixieToys.com began offering signed, limited edition Adoptable Pixie paper dolls to its first 1,000 registered members. Every special edition Adoptable Pixie is numbered and signed by the PixieToys founders.
Leo Cunha, co-founder of PixieToys, said the promotion is proving to be very successful. "The promotion started on Friday, and by lunch time on Saturday we had to upgrade our servers to handle the surge in traffic. Our membership increased from 148 to 1,000 members in less than 48 hours."
