uBid, a leading business-to-consumer e-commerce marketplace and majority-owned operating company of CMGI, said that it ended November 2002 with a 40 percent growth in registered users year over year. At the end of November 2002 uBid had over 4.2 million registered users compared to 3 million registered users at the end of November 2001. The company also said it has seen improved margins for its core business-to-consumer channel. Christian Feuer, president and chief executive officer, uBid, Inc., said, "The elimination of consumer-to-consumer auctions focuses the customer back on our core business-to-consumer platform."
uBid continues the rollout of its new fixed-price uBid Electronics Superstore channel, which it launched during the Thanksgiving holiday. It expects to add more than 20,000 new items to the store over the next several weeks.
