Carnaby is instituting closing fees for sellers effective January 6, 2003. Beginning January 6, there will be Final Value Fees of 5% for items that sell for up to $25; $1.25 plus 2.5% of amount over $25, and an additional 1% for amounts over $1,000. Currently there are no plans to charge for basic listings.
"We feel this is a good business decision because sellers will only pay when their item sells," said Colleen Holuk, Carnaby's Public Relations Coordinator. "If Carnaby doesn't perform, then the sellers don't pay."
Holuk also pointed out that Carnaby sellers are running a Holiday 99-cent sale that will run through December 24, 2002. There is a link on the Carnaby homepage to the sellers who are participating.
