AuctionWatch, a leading provider of online sales management solutions, launched a division to help organizations liquidate assets. The new division, Asset Remarketing Services (ARS), targets corporations and lenders looking to maximize their return on surplus IT and business assets from end-of-life asset retirement, distressed asset liquidation, surplus asset remarketing, bankruptcy and corporate downsizing.
The ARS division will manage the sales process through a network of sales specialists and logistics partners. Client involvement is kept to a minimum. AuctionWatch takes possession of the assets and delivers a check when the assets are distributed. Compensation is based on a percentage of total sales.
"Asset lifecycle management represents an ongoing challenge for many businesses, particularly given the rapid obsolescence of IT assets," said Rodrigo Sales, CEO of AuctionWatch. AuctionWatch customers include Lighthouse Capital Partners and Comerica Bank, and it is assisting with the shutdowns of Excite@Home and Beyond.com.
AuctionWatch Asset Remarketing Process services include asset delivery and storage; testing and reconditioning; merchandising; payment processing; shipping; and detailed reporting. It will also reformat and erase data, software and company information for customers with IT equipment.
