eValueville, the largest seller of apparel on eBay, announced it has changed auction-management vendors and will switch from using FairMarket to ChannelAdvisor. Andrew Waites, President of eValueville, said the company has been a niche player in the eBay clothing and accessory categories on eBay. Using ChannelAdvisor will allow them to expand into other categories and realize their growth potential.
In fact, Waites said eValueville recently acquired some consumer electronics inventory. Users can expect to see eValueville listings for consumer electronics in about 2 weeks.
"Testing other categories is a natural strategy for growth," Waites said. "eValueville is a niche player. We want to become a more dominant eBay retailer and give maximum value to our customers."
eValueville's Waites said he chose ChannelAdvisor auction-management software because of its flexibility, an important requirement in expanding into multiple categories. He also likes the technology, which works behind the scenes and is more efficient than most other vendors' "push" technology. He was also impressed that ChannelAdvisor views its relationship with eValueville as a partnership, a "when you're successful, we're successful" approach.
eValueville does not sell directly on its own Web site, which is a mirror of its eBay "About Me" page. An impressively high 63% of visitors to its eBay auctions get there by going through its own Web site.
Waites had advice for others trying to succeed on eBay. "We're not successful because we're bright," he said. "We were in a good category at the right time. I believe there are a lot of good eBay categories, and this is the right time."
