The Board of Directors of the Appraisers Association of America elected Mr. Albert Sack as an Honorary Member on January 13, 2003, in recognition of and appreciation for a lifetime's contribution of scholarship, generosity and passion in the field of decorative arts. Mr Sack's role as colleague, teacher and friend was noted by the association.

As an international organization, the Appraisers Association of America acknowledged the seminal role played by Israel Sack, Inc in developing an appreciation for our material culture, developing a marketplace and for its role in historic preservation as seen in their contributions in the White House and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the masterpiece objects of our heritage.

There will be a special ceremony to honor Mr. Sack at the Appraisers Association of America's national conference in November of 2003.

Established in 1949, the Appraisers Association of America is the oldest association of personal property appraisers. Members are accepted in 50 major categories and over 600 sub-specialties of personal property. Categories include the broad areas of European and American fine art, furniture and decorative arts, jewelry and specialized categories such as Asian art, tribal art, toys and other collectibles.
