Reading AuctionBytes: eBay Changes "Shady" New-User Icon
eBay will change the icon that advertises a member who is new or has recently changed their User ID. For the first 30 days after joining eBay or changing their eBay User ID, members currently receive a small "shades" icon next to their feedback score. eBay said that over the years, it has heard from many members who are confused by this icon, or who feel that the icon is not a positive reflection of their eBay reputation.
In a few weeks, eBay will introduce two new icons to replace the shades icon. There will be one icon for new members, and another for those members who have changed their User ID.
