Some eBay users reported having problems with their feedback counts last Friday. Members who received feedback were not seeing them added to their total feedback number. The feedback system is eBay's method for establishing a user's reputation.
eBay posted information about the problem on its announcement board on Tuesday. "Some members' feedback scores and/or summaries may not be displaying correct numbers. The issue causing this has been resolved. Updates to these scores may require 12 hours to complete. If you have had feedback removed, your score will continue to be shown as an incorrect number. We expect to have this problem corrected in about a week."
One AuctionBytes reader reported that the problem has been solved "to a degree."
"My feedback's are getting "counted" now, but it is taking a long time for a feedback comment to transfer to the feedback number... much longer then it was several weeks ago," she said.
In February, eBay made changes to the "Leave Feedback" page and created a "Seller Information Box" on the description page of items for sale on its site to make it easier for potential bidders to review a seller's feedback. It's not known to AuctionBytes whether this week's feedback glitch is related to these changes.
