Andale said it renewed its exclusive contract with eBay to provide integrated counters and counter-related services to sellers directly from the eBay marketplace and eBay specialty sites. Under the terms of the agreement, eBay sellers have the option to add Andale's Counters free of charge directly from the eBay "Sell Your Item" page, which sellers use when they create a listing on eBay.
The counters, formerly branded with the Honesty name, can help sellers assess traffic and become more successful and can help buyers assess the competitive interest for a particular product.
Andale Inc., which provides auction management tools and services for online sellers, first signed an agreement with eBay in 2000, shortly after acquiring Honesty. Andale hosts a co-branded Web site, directly integrated with and accessible from several areas throughout the eBay marketplace, where sellers can view their counter statistics and monitor their auction activity.
"Currently eight out of every ten listings use the Andale Counter," said Munjal Shah, CEO of Andale. He also said Andale has more than 1 million registered users.
Andale has received $61 million in financing from Tarrant Venture Partners, Accel Partners, Mohr Davidow Ventures, Oak Hill Venture Partners and other investors.
