MyStoreCredit announced plans to launch what it says is the first service designed specifically to drive repeat sales for eBay sellers. MyStoreCredit allows sellers to set up a financial incentive for buyers to return and buy again from them again.
MyStoreCredit enables sellers to offer bonus store credit at the close of any sale. Buyers can then use the store credit just like cash whenever they make a second purchase with the seller.
"MyStoreCredit creates a "forget-me-not" from the seller to the buyer," said Tabbatha Lawe, president of MyStoreCredit. "It gives the buyer an important reason to keep updated on other things the seller offers and to buy again before the store credit expires."
Sellers are keenly interested in such tools, according to Lawe. Dave Bissette, an eBay seller for two years, recently committed to using MyStoreCredit on all his listings. "I can’t see how I can lose with MyStoreCredit. I only give bonus store credit to buyers who meet my price levels. After those buyers opt-in, MyStoreCredit sends them emails showing my other eBay listings where they can use that store credit."
The email component of the MyStoreCredit can be a powerful marketing tool, reminding buyers to shop on eBay from a seller with whom they have had a good experience with in the past.
MyStoreCredit can be used with any listing, by any seller and is available to registered eBay sellers through MyStoreCredit.com. There is no charge for making the offer, the only time sellers pay MyStoreCredit is when they close a sale at the offer price.
MyStoreCredit manages and tracks the entire store credit process for the seller and ensures the buyer gets their store credit.
The Web site goes live on June 25, and service is scheduled to go live on July 10. From June 25 to July 9, MyStoreCredit will offer a "pre-registration" period: anyone registering during that time will get a 90 day free trial. After that, the company will offer a 60 day free trial to all registrants.
