eBay will launch a pilot program for its Storeowners so they can earn credits on their accounts when they promote their Stores outside of eBay. When eBay Storeowners promote their Store on other Web sites or through emails to buyers, keyword ads, or offline promotions, they will be eligible to earn credits. A special URL that includes a referral code and points to the eBay Store must be included in the off-eBay promotions.
eBay will reimburse Storeowners half of the Final Value Fee normally charged on items that sell as a result of the off-eBay promotion. eBay will launch the pilot in October.
In June, eBay rolled out a co-op advertising program. eBay reimburses Storeowners up to 25% of their print advertising costs if they include the eBay Store URL and logo in the ads.
